
Civilization VII:
APAC Media Preview
The Brief:
Create a branded experience for the APAC Media Preview of the of Civilization VII.
After a five-year break, Civilization 7 arrived as the highly anticipated next instalment in the franchise. 2K Games built a steady media campaign with each announcement adding to the growing anticipation among fans. The APAC Media Preview served as the campaign's final chapter, giving select media their first opportunity to play the game.
What better way to close this journey than by bringing the game universe to life? Step into The World Built by World Builders.
My Role:
As the main creative on this project, I ideated the overarching event concept and experiential journey, pinpointing the F&B touchpoint as a key moment of wonder to create the tingkat take-home box. Together with designers, worked to translate the visual identity from the toolkit into the space. I also wrote the supporting copy for the printed assets i.e. “Welcome, Founder” copy.




Design & Conquer:
We weaved elements from the game, such as the iconic hexagonal tile design, as well as tidbits from the media campaign; quotes directly from the game’s teaser video, into key spatial touch points through visuals, successfully recreating the game’s atmosphere IRL.
A Taste of Territory:
With media flying in from across the region, we wanted to offer them an authentic taste of Singapore. We designed collectible bento boxes, based on our local “tingkats”, as keepsakes for each attendee - a tangible memento that mirrored the game's core mechanic of capturing and claiming tiles as part of your civilisation's expanding territory.
